Candle care tips

A lot of passion and care goes into creating our candles to ensure they are of the very highest quality.  The below is important information on how to look after them to get the best life possible from your george & edi perfumed candle

How to care for your perfumed soy candle and get the best life possible from it

The first burn of your candle sets the burn memory. Allow at least 4 hours for this & do not extinguish the flame until the wax has melted to the edge of the glass. Note: the time this will take is dependent on the size of your candle and the temperature of the room you are burning the candle in –  a hot room will achieve this faster than a cold room

After the first burn, burn the candle for a minimum of one hour, but no longer than 3 hours at a time.  This ensures your candle will burn to the edge of glass and minimises the chance of flooding the wick

If your candle starts to burn unevenly, it is most likley from a draught. Turn the candle to even up the burn and then move to a different location, as draughts will speed up the burn time

Re-centre the wick after each burn, before the wax has set

Trim wick to 5mm once the candle is cold and remove any debris, as this can cause smoke

Keep candles upright and out of direct sunlight. Soy wax has a low melt point and some oils will discolour in sunlight

Burn times are approximate and will depend on burning conditions (e.G. Candles burn faster in a draught)

Burning safety instructions

Never leave A burning candle unattended

Keep away from children, pets and furnishings

Stop burning your candle once it is 2.5cm from the base of the glass – failure to do so can result in the glass exploding

Do not place / burn the candle on A heated surface (I.E. Heater/fire), as this will speed up the burn time & could cause the bottom of the candle glass to overheat & potentially explode

If burning more than one candle at A time, leave at least 10cm between the candles
