Natural Hand Cream Ingredients

Because we care, our lightly perfumed hand creams are made from natural ingredients as outlined in full below. They do not contain any petrochemicals, pegs, mineral oils, parabens or phalates and are cruelty free – we hope you love them

COCO-CAPRYLATE

A plant-derived natural product.  It spreads beautifully onto the skin leaving no greasy residue, just a silky soft moisturised feeling. It is 100% renewable and biodegradable

It is an ester of coconut fatty alcohol, caprylic acid and capric acid and offers nourishing and moisturising properties whilst adding glide and a velvety, sensuous feeling

PRUNUS ARMENIACA (APRICOT) KERNAL OIL

A natural skin conditioning agent.  Apricot oil is produced from the stone (kernel) of the fruit. It is known to be high in mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and contain vitamins a, b1, b2, b6 and vitamin e

BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER

A natural emollient (moisturiser).  Shea butter is extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (vitellaria paradoxa). Shea butter is a triglyceride (fat) derived mainly from stearic acid and oleic acid

CETEARYL ALCOHOL

A natural emollient (moisturiser).  A mixture of two ‘fatty’ alcohols, cetearyl alcohol is an emollient (moisturizer) and a viscosity increasing agent (increases the ‘thickness’ of a substance)

GLYCERIN

A natural moisturiser derived from plant sources.  Glycerin is an organic compound present in all natural lipids (fats).

In our bodies, glycerin is naturally present in the skin and functions as a moisturiser, drawing moisture up through skin layers which slows or prevents excessive drying and evaporation. Its mild properties make it especially useful for people with skin irritations

CETEARYL OLIVATE

A natural emulsifier (helps blend oil and water together). Made with the ester of cetearyl alcohol and fatty acids from olive oil

SORBITAN OLIVATE

A surfactant and emulsifier made from olive oil and sorbitol (a natural sugar alcohol). It is biodegradable, non-toxic and a non-irritant

CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA)
FLOWER EXTRACT

An oily substance made from the flower of the chamomilla recutita, or chamomile plant. A natural product that helps bind moisture to the skin

BENZYL ALCOHOL

A natural preservative. Benzyl alcohol is a natural constituent of several essential oils, including ylang ylang, jasmine and styrax. This fragrance material also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties which means it can be used as a preservative

XANTHAN GUM

A thick substance produced during fermentation of the bacterium xanthomonas campestris with glucose (sugar). It is used as a natural stabilizer and/or thickener

SCLEROCARYA BIRREA SEED OIL

Made from seeds of the fruit on the marula tree.  Marula oil is rich in essential fatty acids, thereby helping to create a more youthful and radiant glow to the skin. An effective skin hydrator and protector ideal for most skin types especially ageing and under-nourished skin

ACTINIDIA CHINESIS (KIWI) SEED OIL

an emollient and skin conditioning agent.  kiwifruit seed oil is known to be rich in alpha-linolenic acid (one of the essential omega 3 fatty acids), and tocopherols (vitamin e)

DEHYDROACETIC ACID

A MILD PRESERVATIVE WHICH KILLS MICRO ORGANISMS AND PREVENTS THEIR GROWTH, THUS PROTECTING  THE HAND CREAM FROM SPOILING

CITRIC ACID

A NATURAL PRESEVATIVE. CITRIC ACID IS A WEAK ORGANIC ACID FOUND IN HIGH LEVELS IN CITRUS FRUITS
